In the morning of May 11 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with Deputy President William Ruto of Kenya in Nairobi.

Li Keqiang said that, Kenya is the last stop of my four-nation tour of Africa. President Uhuru Kenyatta and I held fruitful talks, reached extensive consensus, and witnessed the signing of a series of cooperation documents. The visit has achieved fruitful results and drawn to a successful end to my African tour. I thank the Kenyan side for the generous hospitality, which embodies the profound traditional friendship between China and Kenya as well as the high attention Kenya has paid to bilateral relations.

Li Keqiang expressed that at present, China and Kenya are both at the critical period of development and revitalization, and that both sides enjoy broad space for cooperation. The Chinese side will continue to support Kenya for its efforts in safeguarding national stability, developing economy and improving people’s livelihood, and jointly implement the outcomes of the visit well with the Kenyan side, promoting China-Kenya comprehensive cooperative partnership to keep moving ahead.

Ruto expressed that, Premier Li Keqiang makes Kenya one of the countries of his first visit to Africa, which is a full indication of the importance the Chinese side has attached to Kenya-China relations. The visit has achieved a great success and strongly pushed forward the cooperation between Kenya and China as well as Africa and China, which will bring more benefits to people in both Kenya and Africa. The Kenyan side is willing to jointly implement the outcomes of this visit well with the Chinese side, focus on strengthening cooperation in such fields as infrastructure, agriculture and tourism, and achieve close communication and coordination in regional hotspot issues, so as to push bilateral relations to reach a new level.
