Q: On April 25, Vietnam held a ceremony to formally appoint a Chairman of the People's Committee of the "Huyen Dao Hoang Sa". Does China have any comment on that?

A: China has indisputable sovereignty over the Xisha Islands and their adjacent waters. China and Vietnam have no disputes over the Xisha Islands. The above-mentioned move of the Vietnamese side is illegal and invalid. China has already made clear its position solemnly to the Vietnamese side.
