From January 2 to 6, 2012, Chinese President Hu Jintao sent congratulatory messages to his counterparts of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Ukraine on the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between China and those countries.
Hu speaks highly of the development of bilateral relations between China and the above-mentioned countries since the establishment of diplomatic ties. He points out that China's relations with them now stand on a new historical starting point after 20 years of growth and face broader development potential. China is willing to join hands with them to enhance political mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, seek common development and prosperity and promote peace, stability and development in the region and the world at large.
The above-mentioned heads of state also sent congratulation messages to President Hu on the 20th anniversary of their countries' diplomatic ties with China. They would take this opportunity to comprehensively develop the traditional friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with China.
Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi also exchanged congratulatory messages with his counterparts of the six countries.
