On April 18 local time, HE Amb Wang Xiaolong paid a call on Hon Dalton Tagelagi, Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Niue.

The two sides highly commended the achievements of the development of the bilateral relations, and expressed commitment to deepening the bilateral practical cooperation and jointly safeguarding the regional peace and stability. 

Amb Wang appreciated Niue’s steadfast commitment to the one-China policy. Amb Wang shared the pleasure of witnessing the Commencement Ceremony of China-Aid Niue Ring Road Upgrade Project with Hon Tagelagi, indicating that China is willing to provide Niue with more support within its capacity. 

Hon Tagelagi reiterated Niue’s commitment to developing relations with China, including adherence to the one-China policy. He valued and appreciated China’s support , which helped Niue overcome challenges caused by COVID. In his view, China-Aid Ring Road Upgrade Project will inject new impetus to the socioeconomic and sustainable development of Niue. The two sides were committed to enhancing communication and collaboration for the smooth progressing of the project.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest.
