Li Zhaoxing Meets with His New Zealand's Counterpart Peters
2006/11/17

On November 16, 2006, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met with his New Zealand's counterpart Winston Peters in Hanoi, capital of Vietnam, on the sidelines of the 18th APEC Ministerial Meeting.

Li said bilateral ties have been developing smoothly with cooperation in all areas expanding continuously. China and New Zealand will celebrate the 35th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties next year, Li said, adding China is willing to make joint efforts with New Zealand in deepening mutually beneficial cooperation and further enhancing the comprehensive and cooperative ties between the two countries from a new starting point.

Noting that New Zealand will firmly uphold the one-China policy, Peters said his country is ready to strengthen coordination and cooperation with China on international and regional issues.
