Prize Giving Ceremony for 2012 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad was warmly held in Chinese Embassy in New Zealand on March 16, 2013. HE Ambassador Xu Jianguo attended and addressed the Ceremony. More than 50 representatives from NZ Parliament, Victoria University of Wellington, Ministry of Education, NZQA, and Massey University  also attended the ceremony.

                                             

                                                                                                                                                            

  In his remarks, Ambassador Xu gave an introduction to the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad and put forward the ardent expectations to the Chinese overseas students in New Zealand. He said that China-New Zealand relations have made considerable progress since we established diplomatic relations in 1972. The communication and cooperation between two countries in areas like political, economy, trade, science, education, cultural and people-to-people links have deepened continuously. He spoke highly of the education cooperation between two countries and was full of hope for the future.

 

Chinese government set up Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad in 2003. By now 14 Chinese students in New Zealand received the prize.
